For the third year in a row, St. Aloysius will have a new coach for the girls’ basketball team.

KK Willis announced Saturday that she is stepping down from her position at St. Al and joining the Jackson Prep coaching staff. Willis will serve as the Prep eighth-grade head coach and will assist with the varsity and middle school teams.

Willis was a star basketball player at Porter’s Chapel Academy in the early 2000s. She was hired in February 2023 and spent one season as St. Al’s coach after Savannah Buck served two years.

“I will never forget or be able to express enough gratitude to my Flashes family for the opportunity you have given me,” Willis wrote on social media announcing the move. “You welcomed me with open arms, accommodated my school schedule and took care of my dad when I started working, treated me like family, contributed to the needs of the girls basketball program, and stood by me through the loss of my father and sister while showing me great love within a year and a half. I couldn’t have asked for a better first school as I returned to the game I love.”
