Armie Hammer shares cryptic clip about ‘doom’ after rape and molestation allegations

Disgraced actor Armie Hammer shared a clip about “things falling apart” on his social media on Tuesday. The “Rebecca” star, who faced multiple sexual abuse allegations in 2021, recently reactivated her Instagram account after almost three years.

“Only to the extent that we expose ourselves to constant annihilation can we find within ourselves the indestructible,” reads a quote from Hammer published in an article set to expire at noon Wednesday. “This is the spirit of true revival. It was about letting everything go.”

These words belong to Pema Chödrön, an ordained Tibetan Buddhist nun from New York who has written dozens of books on overcoming difficulties.

“Things falling apart is a kind of test, and also a kind of healing,” the excerpt continues. “We think it’s about passing a test or overcoming a problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get resolved. They come together and fall apart… That’s just the way it is.”

On Jan. 12, 2021, messages surfaced online that allegedly showed Hammer calling himself a cannibal and fantasizing about drinking blood. The next day, Hammer voluntarily left Jennifer Lopez’s romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding, dismissing the accusation as “nonsense” and saying he was stepping away from the film to be with his family.

Hammer was accused by a second woman on January 14 this year of psychological abuse and sexual coercion. A third woman came forward with similar allegations later that month. In March 2021, a woman identified at the time only as Effie said the actor “brutally” raped her for four hours in Los Angeles in 2017.

On Tuesday, Hammer posted references to “pleasure” and “misery” on Instagram.

“When we think something will bring us pleasure, we do not know what will really happen,” the fragment read. “When we think something will bring us misery, we do not know. To leave room for ignorance is the most important thing of all.”

Hammer reactivated his Instagram in November after almost three years of social media silence.

Hammer reactivated his Instagram in November after nearly three years of social media silence.

Hammer, who divorced his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers in 2020 after 10 years of marriage, denied the allegations at the time. He later checked into rehab and became the subject of a Discovery+ docuseries titled “House of Hammer.”

In May, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office concluded there was insufficient evidence to charge Hammer with a crime.

The actor returned to Instagram on November 1 and has only shared three posts on his network since then. Hammer doesn’t have any upcoming projects listed on his IMDb page, and his last appearance on the big screen was in 2022’s “Death on the Nile.”
