When Anurag Kashyap spent the entire night in police custody

Anurag Kashyap is never afraid to talk about his personal life, career, personal triumphs and even struggles. The ace director was busy promoting his film Bad cop with Gulshan Devaiah and during his recent interview with comedian Samany Raina Gangs of Wasseypur the director revealed that he once spent a night in jail.

During an interview with Raina on YouTube, the director was asked if he had ever been to prison. Responding to this, the actor said that he spent a night in jail for “hitting the wrong person.”

“Yes, I went to prison. I hit the wrong person. Someone who shouldn’t be beaten. I sat in jail overnight,” said the filmmaker-turned-actor.

Talking about how the man who sent him to jail changed his life forever, the director said, “The man who put me in jail is the same guy who changed my life completely. He was the one who brought me out. He said the man was happy with the way Anurag stood up for rights.

Anurag refused to give more details about the incident.

Actor Gulshan Devaiah was also with Kashyap during the interview and was shocked to hear about the Anurag incident.

In his work, Anurag Kashyap likes to play villain roles. The director-turned-actor has taken on the role of antagonist in not one, but two projects. He was recently seen playing a gray role in Nithilan Swaminathan’s revenge saga Maharaja opposite Vijay Sethupathi and in the Disney + Hotstar series Bad cop.
