Arrest over video of ‘prison officer having sex with inmate in cell’

A woman was arrested after a video was shared on social media, allegedly showing a prison guard having sex with a convict in his cell.

The Metropolitan Police said a woman was arrested on Friday on suspicion of misconduct in a public office after officers were alerted to a video allegedly filmed at HMP Wandsworth.

Police added: “She has been detained by police. Enquiries are continuing.

“We remain in close contact with the Ministry of Justice.”

A Prison Service spokesman said: “Staff corruption is not tolerated and the former prison officer alleged to feature in this footage has been reported to police.

“It would be inappropriate to comment further while the investigation is ongoing.”
