Man arrested and charged with murder following investigation into suspicious death at Major Co.

Authorities say a 42-year-old man is in custody and faces a first-degree murder charge following an investigation into a suspicious death in Major County.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said Floyd Dean Cox was arrested in Enid and booked into the Garfield County Jail following a June 27 interview with OSBI agents.

Authorities said that on June 7, Major County Police officers responded to a home in Ringwood where the body of 31-year-old Tyler Sladek was found.

The medical examiner determined that Sladek had wounds consistent with homicide. The Major County Sheriff’s Office called in the OSBI to assist with the investigation.

No other details about the death were released.
