Bronx native moved to Florida in 2021

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Chief Collier administered the police officer’s Oath of Office to David Medina earlier this week in a ceremony among several department members, Mayor Blake, and Officer D. Medina’s family.

Officer D. Medina recently graduated from the Public Safety Institute Law Enforcement Academy at the Eastern Florida State College campus in Melbourne, Florida.

He has one brother and two sisters.

Officer D. Medina is planning on completing his Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice.

He previously worked at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in New York and Pennsylvania for 12 years.

The Bronx native moved to Florida in 2021 after retiring from the Bureau of Prisons as a Lieutenant.

Officer D. Medina is married with four children. Officer D. Medina, enjoys working out and coaching baseball.

Officer D. Medina will proceed through the orientation and field training program during the next few months prior to being released on solo patrol.
