Germany – Denmark LIVE: Euro 2024 match suspended due to lightning strike in Dortmund

36 min: The game was stopped by referee Michael Oliver. Extreme weather conditions persist and thunder can be clearly heard above the stadium.

Lightning and now heavy rain. For now, the players stayed on the field.

35 min: Gundogan wins the ball from Hojlund and drives the German up the pitch. He links up with Musiala and Sane before the German attack is stopped on the edge of the box.

32 min: Christian Eriksen goes for a free-kick but hits the wall. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg tries to continue but his quick cross is too much for anyone to handle and goes out of play.

29 min: Andreas Skov Olsen takes Denmark forward and selects Joakim Maehle, who cuts the ball inside. He gets to the edge of the penalty area and is then eliminated by Robert Andrich.

Denmark free kick in dangerous area.

26 min: Musiala tries to dribble into the penalty area from the left, but is knocked out of his hands after a great tackle by Jannik Vestegaard. The match takes on a more leisurely pace.

Denmark are doing better in midfield, with Thomas Delaney and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg closing down Ilkay Gundogan nicely.

A pass with the hope of a long pass was exceptionally played to Christian Eriksen, who ran behind Antonio Rudiger and controlled the ball perfectly.

He moves the ball around the defender, but Rudiger manages to recover and get in the block!

He had to stop it as the ball was heading towards goal. Better from Denmark.

20 min: Denmark are really struggling to get a foothold in the game. When they do come out, the German defence quickly catches up to them, with Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen left with little space to operate.

It’s tough, but things are slowly starting to stabilize.

17 min: Christian Eriksen has a chance to put the ball into the box after a free kick. He only sends a signal to Kai Havertz who clears the threat and then feeds Leroy Sane for a counter-attack.

Sane can’t get past Alexander Bah, so he runs inside and scores a free kick after being fouled by Andreas Christensen.

Toni Kroos takes a free kick and tries to score, but the ball hits the wall.

14 min: Jamal Musiala shoots from distance, but misses the target. The Germans are tearing Denmark apart with their cross-field passes, quick runs and lots of shots.

The Danes started the match very nervously and are trying to regain their composure.

Kai Havertz slips off Jaochim Andersen’s shoulder and runs into the box as the ball is kicked over his head. The German striker takes a good shot on goal but Kasper Schmeichel drops to the left and uses his body to turn the ball wide of the target.
