Two arrested after alleged fraud attempt, police chase

Virginia State Police have released the identity of the person killed in a fatal single-vehicle crash on March 4 on Route 39 in Bath County.

(WJET/WFXP) — Two people were arrested in Venango County after police say they tried to commit fraud by stealing money from a Pennsylvania man’s bank account.

Franklin State Police officers were first called June 14 to the Northwest Savings Bank in Cranberry Township for what staff said was an attempt to use a false ID to withdraw $4,000 from the account.

When police arrived on scene, they found the car matched the description of the one the two suspects were driving when leaving a nearby Taco Bell and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

The driver then allegedly fled and began a pursuit west on US 322 until he eventually struck two stopped vehicles at the intersection of Home Depot Dr.

The two actors, identified only as 42-year-old Julian James of the Bronx, New York, and 25-year-old Lluwakayode Ajayi of Moon Twp., Pennsylvania, attempted to flee on foot but were quickly caught and arrested.

Both men face charges of forgery, fraud by access device, theft by deception, identity theft, fleeing/eluding and attempting to elude arrest on foot. They were arraigned in Venango County District Court and were granted no bond.
