GOMBE: Village head, councilor suspended over alleged theft

The Gombe State government has suspended the village head of Garin Majidadi in Akko Local Government Area, Mohammed Majidadi, for alleged theft.

She also suspended the councilor representing Kumo East Ward, Abdullahi M. Panda.

Announcing this in a statement on Friday, the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Njodi, said the Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the immediate suspension of the affected persons.

“The suspensions follow recent events involving two officials who were summoned by the Gombe State Police and are currently facing charges of conspiracy in connection with the theft and subsequent sale of an electricity transformer in Garin Majidadi,” the statement read.

“The suspension of both officials is a precautionary measure to ensure there is no interference with the legal process.”
