The Germany-Denmark clash resumes after being suspended due to heavy rain and storm

Germany’s Euro 2024 knockout match against Denmark was suspended after 35 minutes due to thunder and lightning in Dortmund.

English referee Michael Oliver stopped the action and sent the players off the pitch when the score was 0-0.

As heavy rain fell at the Westfalenstadion, both players stood on the edge of the pitch for a few moments before being led to the locker room.

The round of 16 match started in good weather, but conditions changed as the match came to an end after half an hour.

There was loud thunder, lightning, heavy rain and hail as both sets of fans tried to take shelter under makeshift shelters.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, speaking on ITV, said: “I’m surprised it took so long to get them out because there were some really unpleasant incidents with it.”
