Another fraud lawsuit filed against Kanakuk

Another individual filed a lawsuit against several parties associated with Kanakuk Ministries, alleging they were defrauded in seeking punishment for convicted sex offender Pete Newman.

According to an article in the Branson Tri-Lakes News, 37-year-old Andrew Summersett filed the lawsuit. Summersett tells the Branson Tri-Lakes News that he was twice abused by Newman, who was later convicted and sentenced to life in prison for multiple incidents of violence against underage boys during his time in Kanakuk.

As with the fraud lawsuit filed against Kanakuk by another victim, Logan Yandell, Suummersett claims Kanakuk officials knew about Newman’s actions and covered it up. Additionally, the organization did not inform victims when it learned of Newman’s actions.
