She’ll finally get her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It was recently announced that music icon Prince will be among the next cultural figures to appear on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The “Purple Rain” legend will receive the honor posthumously, more than eight years after his tragic death.

On June 25, 2024, the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025 was announced, which also includes David Beckham, Jane Fonda, Colin Farrell, Keith Urban and many others.

Prince has certainly waited a long time for this. He was offered his own star twice during his lifetime.

However, Prince declined the honor on both occasions. But why? And how was he honored posthumously?

While his many fans may be surprised to learn that he does not yet have his own spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the stars must agree to the nomination.

If true, the rule has been dubbed the “Springsteen clause” after a fan who previously nominated Bruce Springsteen without consulting “The Boss” himself.

Walk Of Fame producer Ana Martinez revealed People magazine: “We announced it and he didn’t want it.”

“So I created what’s called the Springsteen Clause, which (means) he has to sign it now. Otherwise it would be unfair to those who want it.”

Prince himself turned down the honor twice, saying he was “not ready” for the job. So how can he claim his reward now?

The prince’s estate gave the green light as the two-year “mourning period” following the icon’s death had already passed.

A celebrity’s family or estate must consent, and after the six-year battle over Prince’s estate ended in 2022, the family and estate agreed to his nomination.

Another matter is whether Prince himself would like to have his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – if he were alive today, he would probably refuse for the third time.

There is no confirmed date yet when the ceremony will take place. Although Prince was listed as one of the inductees, his estate has less than two years to plan the induction.
