Is the marketing industry failing young talents?

If you’ve talked to any recruiter about the marketing job market in the last 18 months, you’ve probably heard informally that the situation is dire.

However, when discussing the talent market and its pitfalls, beginners and graduates taking their first steps into the world of work are rarely mentioned.

“The pressure is mounting and budgets are being hit – and it’s not just the CMOs that are being affected. It’s happening all along the food chain,” says Laura Chamberlain, professor of marketing at Warwick Business School and a columnist for Marketing Week.

“Honestly, young talent suffers the most because they don’t have a voice. Nobody talks about it and nobody hears about it.”
