A bus carrying 48 tourists falls down a cliff.

A sleeper bus carrying 48 passengers fell off a cliff in Dak Nong province in the Central Highlands on Monday, injuring at least 22 people.

The vehicle, driven by a 50-year-old driver, was traveling on National Route 28 at about 1 p.m. when it reached a sharp bend at Cui Cho Pass in Dak Glong District. The bus then plunged into a cliff.

The vehicle was carrying tourists, said Tran Nam Thuan, chairman of the Dak Glong People’s Committee. He added that authorities had taken all the injured to a medical center in Dak Glong.

A medical center official said the facility received 22 injured people, including six with serious injuries. The seriously injured were taken to Dak Nong General Hospital, while the rest remained at the medical center for treatment.

Authorities said the sleeper bus was transported from HCMC and neighboring Binh Duong to the Ta Dung tourist site in Dak Song District. The accident occurred while the vehicle was returning to Binh Duong.
