An investigation is underway after a police officer shot and killed a person in northern Kentucky on Sunday.

Covington police responded to a report of a family member being threatened with a knife on Grand Avenue in Taylor Mill, a Covington police spokesman said.

Police said officers encountered the suspect inside a home threatening someone with a knife and then being shot.

According to our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati, the person’s identity and condition have not yet been released.

Kentucky State Police are investigating.
