Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) will be fighting for his life in EastEnders next week after he collapsed on a playground.

The teenager, as viewers know, has been taking steroids for several weeks after finding out that his best friend Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) is also taking them.

Next week, a local boxing tournament begins and Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) bullies Nugget, who retaliates by going out of control. Zack Hudson (James Farrar) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) are forced to intervene, separating them.

Meanwhile, Denzel is concerned about Nugget, he pulls his friend aside and warns him to calm down or the others might start to have doubts about their steroid use.

Zack, however, becomes suspicious and takes action by putting up a “drug test” sign to gauge the teens’ reaction. Denzel panics when he sees the sign, unaware that it acts as a deterrent, so he runs away.

When Denzel fails to arrive at the tournament in time, Nugget sets out to find his friend, but during the search he falls ill and collapses onto the sidewalk.

Ravi and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) find Nugget on the floor and call an ambulance. Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) is later informed of the incident.

Nugget is rushed to the hospital, and Dr. Miller tells a concerned Ravi and Priya that their son’s kidneys are not working properly. The news is shocking, but when the doctor asks if Nugget has been taking drugs, conflicts arise.

Ravi, however, later takes the doctor aside and informs him of Zack’s suspicions about Nugget’s steroid use. Priya and Ravi argue once again, but eventually comfort each other while waiting for news about their son.

In emotional scenes, Dr. Miller confirms that Nugget was in fact taking steroids, much to the shock of both Priya and Ravi.

Meanwhile, Nugget regains consciousness and is shocked when the doctor reveals that his kidneys are failing and he may need long-term dialysis.

The police then get involved, wanting to find out the truth about who was supplying the drugs, but Nugget remains silent.

Will the truth come out? And will Nugget be okay?
