6-year-old boy killed when part of terrace collapses in Delhi | Delhi News

A six-year-old boy died after a part of the terrace of his home, where he was playing, collapsed in Harsh Vihar in northeast Delhi, police said on Sunday.

The events occurred around 5 p.m. DCP (North East) Joy Tirkey said she received information about the incident at Harsh Vihar police station.

“The building is old. The boy was playing there when part of the terrace collapsed and the child fell… he was taken to GTB hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the terrace was about 50 square metres in size and that no construction work was underway.

The boy and his family had been living in the Partap Nagar premises for the past six months as tenants. His father, Santosh, works as a labourer in a factory on Sewadham Road.

Police said the owner of the house, who lives in the same building on the ground floor, was on the run and a complaint had been filed.
