Firefighters extinguished a fire at a gas station near the main national road.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to a building fire on the Fourwentways roundabout on the A11, south of Cambridge, at 04:19 UK time.

Crews from Saffron Walden and Newport, Essex, were also called to the fire.

A fire brigade spokesman said firefighters remained at the scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and the area was safe.

The Fourwentways offer includes, among others: gas station, Burger King restaurant and Travelodge hotel.

It is unclear which building was affected by the fire.

The spokesman added: “An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.”
