Diplo Speaks Out After ‘Revenge Porn’ Lawsuit.

Diplo is speaking out after being accused of violating “revenge porn” laws.

The 45-year-old DJ and producer, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, on Friday (June 28) referred on social media to a civil lawsuit in which he was accused of sharing sexual videos and photos of his former partner without her consent.

“Don’t believe what you read in the news,” Diplo wrote on Instagram alongside a carousel of his photos and videos. “I don’t have a $100 million mansion, I didn’t pay €450k for a rave in Ibiza, and I didn’t send dirty Snapchats in 2017.”

He added, “Let’s talk about how lucky I am to party with you and how good the raves are here in Europe… (Athens, Croatia, Prague, over… Paris, wait).”

In a complaint filed Thursday (June 27) in Los Angeles federal court, anonymous accuser Jane Doe alleged that the DJ/producer recorded their sexual encounters and shared the materials with others on Snapchat “without plaintiff’s knowledge or consent.”

In her complaint, the woman claims that she had a consensual sexual relationship with Diplo between 2016 and 2023. During this time, she claims, she “occasionally gave defendant Diplo permission to record them having sex, but she never gave him permission to distribute these images and videos to third parties and reiterated that he was not to record them without her express consent.”

In a statement released Friday, Diplo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, strongly denied the new allegations, citing previous lawsuits alleging abuse by the artist.

“In every case where allegations of misconduct have been made against Wes, the result has been either the immediate dismissal of the bogus lawsuit with an apology, a court award to Wes in excess of $1.2 million in damages, or a slow end to an apparent extortion attempt that failed to deliver. absolutely no results,” Freedman said.

“Wes has been repeatedly targeted by a group of untrustworthy individuals and their crooked lawyers who have woven lies in search of unjust payments. This lawsuit appears to be just another one of the same, so we have no reason to believe it will end any differently than all the others.”
