Simon Cowell reveals why he was imprisoned aged just 12

Simon Cowell has spent years hiding his criminal past – but now he has finally confessed his SHOCKING secret to This Morning’s Alison Hammond.

The X Factor boss revealed in a very candid interview that when he was just 12 years old, he was “thrown in jail” for hijacking a bus with a fake gun.

Actually, actually.

During a game of “true or false”, Alison questioned Simon if the strange incident had actually happened, and then Simon talked about his difficult childhood.

“It was a joke, I thought. I put a gun on – I shouldn’t even say it – it was a pretend gun and we said to the bus driver, ‘Take us to Watford!’ He literally didn’t stop from Radcliffe to Watford,” the music mogul said.

Simon’s memories of his troubled past came back to him earlier this week when he visited the area with his X Factor group, Rak-Su.

“I was there recently with Rak-Su and I told them the story, ‘Last time I went to bloody Watford I ended up in prison.’

In a candid interview, Simon also admitted that he “thought he was dead” when he woke up after THAT fall.

Speaking about the incident in which he slipped down the stairs while going to get milk at night, Simon said: “It’s a bit embarrassing. I went downstairs to get some milk, which isn’t very rock and roll, because I was feeling a little dizzy.

“I fell down the stairs, I woke up, first of all I thought I was dead. I swear to God.

“When I woke up, the first face I saw was Ben, who was in the room with me, and I thought, ‘This is not my idea of heaven.’ We both thought I had broken my neck.

At least you’re recovering now, Simon.
