Man arrested for sexual assault after dragging woman into Edgware garden

Police have confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a woman was dragged off the street and sexually assaulted in Edgware.

A man in his 20s was arrested in Warrington on Saturday 29th June. He was taken to London and remains in custody.

The arrest follows an incident which occurred at 10.25pm ​​on Thursday 27th June, when a member of the public reported that a partially dressed woman had been found in Manor Park Gardens, Edgware.

The victim, 20, was walking along the road when an unknown man hiding in the garden jumped out and dragged her into the garden before sexually assaulting her. The victim continues to receive reports from the police.

Detectives investigating the incident issued a public appeal for information, which led to yesterday’s arrest. A number of other investigations are ongoing, although officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
