A large alligator blocks the road, being moved by other means by firefighters

Last week, firefighters had to remove a large alligator from a road in North Carolina.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office was asked to respond to a traffic problem around 1 a.m. on June 28.

Boiling Springs Lakes Fire Rescue posted on social media that a 12-foot alligator was lying in the middle of the road and lunging at drivers.

Police called for reinforcements, and when firefighters arrived, they worked together to move the alligator.

They decided to spray it with water.

“After a gentle rain encouraged it to retreat, the alligator finally decided it was done with civilization for now and finally returned to its more natural habitat,” it wrote on its Facebook page.

The road eventually reopened.
