ASX down 0.29% at noon: Investors await UK and French elections






The Australian share market opened lower on expectations for the UK and French elections, amid ongoing global uncertainty. At 11:35 the S&P/ASX 200 is up 0.29%. lower at 7,745, and tech stocks, especially WiseTech, are down 1.9% and 4%, respectively. Investors are also monitoring the upcoming French elections, while national attention turns to upcoming economic data releases and Federal Reserve meeting minutes tomorrow.

The best performing sector is A-REIT, up 0.91%. The worst performing sector is Info Tech, down 1.84%.

The best performing large cap stock is Whitehaven Coal (ASX:WHC), which is up 5.75%. to $8.09. Shares in Lynas Rare Earths (ASX:LYC) and Yancoal Australia (ASX:YAL) were next.

The worst performing large cap stock is WiseTech Global (ASX:WTC), which is trading 4.19% lower at $96.10. This is followed by shares in Pro Medicus (ASX:PME) and Telix Pharmaceuticals (ASX:TLX).

Gold is trading at $2,338.00 per ounce.

Iron ore is 0.9 percent higher at $106.70 a tonne.
