Why Alex Cooper Doesn’t Wash His Face: ‘Please Don’t Judge Me’

Alex Cooper talked about skipping face wash in her daily skin care routine.

“I don’t wash my face,” the 29-year-old “Call Her Daddy” podcast host said in a Friday, June 28, YouTube video VogueBeauty Secrets series. “Please don’t judge me. I just realized early on that when I had breakouts, my skin was very oily, confused, and I had a lot of trouble with skin care,” she explained.

Cooper noticed that when she stopped washing her face, “suddenly I stopped getting pimples.”

Skipping that step, Cooper began her skincare routine by applying Paula’s Choice RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner to her face. “It really hydrates my skin,” she raved. “Everything I put on my face, I want to try to keep it hydrated. We want to look like that Hailey Bieber doughnut,” she joked, referring to Bieber’s viral dewy look.

Bieber, 27, inspired Cooper again with her serum choices. “I saw Hailey Bieber in one of her YouTube videos and it was sitting in her bathroom,” Cooper said, holding a bottle of Biba De Sousa Plant Stem Cell Peptide Serum. “I immediately thought, ‘I must look like Hailey Bieber and have that skin,’” Cooper joked.

She finished her skincare routine with sunscreen and then applied foundation to her face.

“I know this looks a lot lighter than my skin tone,” Cooper said, tapping the shade into her cheeks. “Trust me, there’s a method to the madness.” The podcast host then warmed up her face with the Makeup by Mario Contour Stick.

Cooper then reached for her Nudestix blush and applied bubblegum color to her cheeks. “I think it makes me look alive,” she said, before emphasizing her cheeks and nose.

During her eyebrow care session, Cooper talked about getting her eyebrows tinted four weeks before her wedding Matt Kaplan.

“Thank god I trusted myself. We dyed them and I thought they looked great! And if you didn’t, don’t tell me because for the sake of my sanity we’re just going to have to pretend it was amazing,” she joked.

Cooper finished her makeup by filling in her brows and applying mascara.
