SEPA appoints new chief strategy officer

WASHINGTON, DC / ACCESSWIRE / July 1, 2024 / Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Fisher as Chief Strategy Officer, effective July 29. Fisher will provide strategic direction and leadership for SEPA and oversee the organization’s business development, membership, research and industry strategy teams.

Prior to joining SEPA, Fisher served on the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) leadership team as Executive Vice President of Clean Energy and General Counsel. In these roles, she focused on ensuring that member utilities succeed in their clean energy transition. Fisher worked on external policy, legal and regulatory work, and stakeholder engagement. She had a broad range of internal responsibilities related to the strategic and economic performance of the association. Fisher also led EEI’s Environment Department and a cross-functional Clean Energy team, where she focused on working with key regulators and supporting member efforts to develop and implement new technologies. She served as a key advisor to EEI’s Board of Directors, comprised of member CEOs, and worked closely with the board’s leadership on a range of policy and governance issues. Prior to joining EEI, Fisher served as Energy General Counsel and a diplomat in Europe, Asia, and South America.

Fisher has a bachelor’s degree in internal affairs with a concentration in economics and attended George Washington University and Georgetown University Law Center. She was a Foreign Service Officer in the State Department and served in U.S. embassies in Thailand and Colombia.
