Road closed, hundreds without power after crash north of Salem (MCSO)

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities say a serious crash north of Salem caused a road closure and power outages in the area.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened Tuesday morning on River Road Northeast near Waconda Road Northeast.

A Portland General Electric crew responded to the scene, and officials said work was underway to repair the utility poles, which could cause the road to close for several hours.

PGE’s power outage map shows that more than 100 customers in the area are without power, although this morning the number was more than 300.

Details of the crash are limited, stay tuned to KOIN 6 where we will update you as new information becomes available.
