Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II arrested on drunk driving charges

Oklahoma State football star Ollie Gordon II was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers stopped Gordon in the Oklahoma City area after he twice crossed into an adjacent lane and was caught speeding 17 mph over the limit, exceeding the 65 mph limit.

During the stop, the officer detected the odor of alcohol in the vehicle. Gordon admitted to having an open bottle of vodka and tequila, which were half empty, according to the affidavit. Gordon initially refused to take a sobriety test. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, carrying an open container of alcohol, failure to maintain a single lane of traffic, and speeding. At the Cleveland County Jail, Gordon recorded a blood alcohol level of .11 and .10.

In Oklahoma, the legal blood alcohol content while driving is 0.08%.

Gordon won the Doak Walker Award, given to college football’s top quarterback, last season. He led the nation with 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.

An Oklahoma State spokesman said the school was “aware” of the incident.
