Boy, 2, hospitalized after shooting himself in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A 2-year-old child was taken to the hospital after police say he accidentally shot himself in the leg just outside of Lawrenceville in Brunswick County.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred at the Brunswick Village Apartments, located on Lawrenceville Plank Road, just outside the city of Lawrenceville.

The child was taken to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, where he is in stable condition, but there is no word on his condition at this time.

This incident is still under investigation.
