Charlotte woman accused of engaging in sex acts with 4-year-old: Records

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Charlotte woman is facing a slew of charges after she engaged in sexual acts with a 4-year-old child, according to Mecklenburg County court records.

Documents state that Rhonna Jasmiya Horton, 24, ‘unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously’ engaged in sex acts with a 4-year-old child for the purpose of arousing and gratifying sexual desire.’

Horton has been charged with four counts of statutory sex offence with a child by an adult, four counts of indecent liberties with a child, and seven counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Jail records show Horton was booked on June 28 and the alleged crimes occurred in April.

Mecklenburg County records state Horton appeared in court on Monday, July 1, where her bond was set to $1 million secured.

Another hearing in this case is scheduled for July 16.
