A teenager arrested in connection with a fire on the top floor of a skyscraper

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a tower block fire in Coatbridge which injured six people.

Six fire crews were called to the incident at the High Coats flats on Monday just after 1.30pm.

Emergency services spent several hours extinguishing the flames on the top floor of the building.

Police Scotland said a 17-year-old boy had been arrested in connection with the fire, but enquiries were ongoing.
