Goodyear takes action after 8-year-old speaks at city council meeting

GOODYEAR, AZ — The city of Goodyear is taking action to crack down on street racing, thanks in part to a brave 9-year-old who spoke out.

ABC15 featured William Miller’s story earlier this year. He spoke at the Goodyear City Council meeting in January about the dangers of street racing on Estrella Parkway.

“Me and my grandma would go to Sonic to get ice cream, and it was very dangerous…” Miller told council members in a video posted to the city’s social media account.

Since that meeting, city authorities have not only intensified police operations in the area, but also built the necessary pedestrian crossing and traffic lights.
