Christina Applegate’s daughter, Sadie LeNoble, has opened up about her health struggles. She has been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, also known as POTS.

According to the NHS, POTs is a condition where the heart rate increases rapidly after standing up from a sitting or lying position, and includes symptoms such as dizziness or light-headedness, fainting and shortness of breath. It can be improved with lifestyle changes, although some may need medication, the source added.

“When I stand up, I get really, really weak and I feel like I’m going to faint,” the 13-year-old explained on her mom’s June 25 episode of the MeSsy podcast. “And I’ve fainted and blacked out before, but that doesn’t usually happen.”

LeNoble says it helped her empathize with her mother, who is struggling with her own health issues after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021.

“I feel like if I didn’t have this thing, it would be a lot harder for me to understand what my mom is going through,” she shared. “When my mom says, ‘Oh, I’m in pain now. Oh, I have tremors.’ If I didn’t have this, I probably would be like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ But I have tremors because of POTS.”
