A Denver police officer arrested on domestic violence charges pleaded guilty Friday to a harassment charge, court documents show.

Ramone “Razor” Young, 53, was arrested by Aurora police on March 21 on two counts of harassment.

According to an arrest affidavit, Aurora police accused Young of harassing his ex-girlfriend by following her, suggesting he interfere with her Child Protective Services case and threatening to file anonymous reports about her boyfriend.

Aurora police wrote in a report that at the time of his arrest, Young was already under investigation by the Denver Police Department’s Internal Affairs Department for harassment and possible stalking of a woman.

He was hired by DPD in 2013 and most recently worked in the patrol division, but was assigned to a non-patrol assignment when he was arrested.

Young pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of harassment for following someone in a public place, according to court documents. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation.

One count of harassment of hitting, pushing or kicking was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

He was previously suspended in 2017 after he failed to check on a woman in a jail cell for nine hours, according to previous reporting by Denver7.

At the time, Young was working a desk job “after prior suspensions for inappropriate contact with women on duty,” Denver7 reports.

The Denver Police Department could not immediately be reached for comment on whether Young still works there.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
