18-Year-Old Jacksonville Murder Suspect Arrested, Police Say

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — An 18-year-old wanted for murder in Jacksonville has been arrested on suspicion of the crime, police officials said.

Jacksonville Police said Larry W. Taylor was arrested in Springfield by members of the Springfield Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Taylor is being held in the Sangamon County Jail on a warrant issued by Morgan County charging him with first-degree murder.


An arrest warrant was issued in connection with the fatal shooting of Trenton Jackson on the night of June 6. Jackson was found in the area of ​​College Avenue and Dunlap Court with multiple gunshot wounds; he later died at a hospital.

Taylor will remain in custody pending his court appearance, Jacksonville police said.
