SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) — Seven people have been arrested weeks after an attack on a police officer during an entertainment show in the South Bay.

The suspects jumped on his police car and vandalized it while he was inside.

Now officials say they have arrested all those responsible for the scandal.

The arrests were prompted by frozen images from video footage posted on social media.

“If you attack a San Jose police officer who is trying to help an injured person so you can become famous on TikTok, you can get away with it for hours or days, but rest assured, we will find you, we will arrest you,” said San Jose Police Acting Chief Paul Joseph. “We will send a loud message to you and your fellow lawbreakers. Not in San Jose.”

On Sunday, there were numerous spectacles on the streets of San Francisco and Oakland, which resulted in one car bursting into flames.

The arrests were announced more than two weeks after a violent spectacle erupted into a riot on June 15 in the area of Winchester Boulevard and Olin Avenue near Santana Row in San Jose.

Police say the suspects jumped on the roof of the patrol car, began stomping on the windshield, banging on the side windows and trying to open the doors.

They claim the officer was trying to help a spectator who had been hit by a vehicle and lost consciousness.

They then surrounded the officer’s vehicle.

One of the entrepreneurs’ clothing stores, which was right next to the scene, was already closed when the show took place. He claims he only found out about it the next day.

“I was shocked because I knew I had only been there a few minutes before,” said Jim Thomas, owner of Eli Thomas Menswear. “And nothing like this ever happens on this side of town.”

Police believe they have arrested all the people who damaged the car and attacked the officer.

Police say the incidents are becoming a growing problem in other parts of San Jose and the Bay Area.
