Wales FA chairman Steve Williams suspended pending investigation

Welsh Football Association chairman Steve Williams has been suspended pending an investigation, the governing body has confirmed.

No reason was given for the action but the FAW, when contacted by the PA news agency, confirmed the matter was ongoing.

The news comes amid the FAW’s search for a new manager for the men’s national team to replace the sacked Rob Page.

Williams, who was elected president in 2021 and has one year remaining in his term, was involved in the decision last month to end Page’s term.

Williams told BBC Sport Wales: “I can’t comment. It’s for the FAW to comment on that.”
