Police say an officer fired shots at a fleeing suspect in Dundalk on Sunday night

DUNDALK, Md. — A man has been arrested following a shooting involving police officers Sunday evening in Dundalk.

Just before midnight, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3300 block of McShane Way. While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, police observed a firearm between the driver’s legs.

Officers ordered the driver, 25-year-old Xzavier J. Logan Jr., to keep his hands on his head, but the driver disobeyed and put the vehicle in gear when an officer tried to pull him over.

According to police, Logan then sped off and pulled over the officer before driving into an alley.

During the scuffle, one of the policemen fired a shot, but the bullet missed Logan.

Following the crash, Logan fled on foot before being tasered and subdued.

The two officers and Logan were taken to hospital and have since been released.

Police seized two handguns from Logan’s car, one with a high-capacity magazine and an automatic trigger.

A large amount of drugs and cash worth more than $15,000 was also found.

Logan has been charged with attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, possession of a firearm and crimes against life and health.

He is currently in custody without the possibility of bail.
