Satellite system suspended due to hurricane : Cayman News Service

CINWS satellite imagery of Hurricane Beryl

(CNS): Satellite images of the Western Hemisphere Cayman Islands National Meteorological Service website will be temporarily removed Tuesday evening as CINWS suspended the system as a precaution to protect critical equipment from approaching Hurricane Beryl. However, it will not affect the Kearney Gomez weather radar, which will remain online during the storm, officials said.

The temporary suspension of satellite imagery will remain in effect until it is deemed safe to resume operations. The decision was made to ensure the safety and functionality of satellite equipment, which is critical to providing regular weather updates to the service, officials said.

Meanwhile, satellite images of Beryl are still available in the US National Hurricane Center website.
