Teen charged over Hobart waterfront assault that left young man seriously injured

A teenager has been charged in connection with a “deliberate” attack on a Hobart waterfront that left a young man seriously injured.

Police and emergency services were called to the incident on Morrison Street near Salamanca just after 11pm on Saturday.

A 17-year-old boy accused of assault was arrested earlier this week and charged with assault under the Criminal Code.

Police say the incident involved people who knew each other.

Police said the injured 18-year-old suffered “serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”
