Appeal after 7-year-old boy attacked outside supermarket

Police are appealing for witnesses after a seven-year-old boy was attacked outside a supermarket in East Sussex.

The incident happened outside Morrisons on St James’ Street, Brighton, at 7.15pm BST on 5 June.

The boy was leaving the store with his family when he was pushed by a man, causing him to fall backward, police said.

The man was described as being in his twenties, of large build and with a brown beard.

He was wearing a blue wool hat, a light blue or gray shirt, a dark blue scarf, a blue lanyard and dark pants, police added.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police.
