Man hospitalized and arrested after ‘serious attack’ in Alexandria

One man was taken to hospital and another arrested after a serious attack in West Dunbartonshire.

Police received a report of an assault that occurred on Sunday, June 30 at approximately 11:15 p.m. in the Steven Street area of ​​Alexandria.

The 37-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case and released pending further investigation.

Detective Sergeant Kieran Bewick said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident and would be keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and can help.

“As part of our investigation, we are also asking anyone with private CCTV who could assist to get in touch. If you were driving in the area, please check dashcam footage to see if there is anything that could assist officers.”
