Late Tuesday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal crash on I-95 near mile marker 204 in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal crash on I-95 near mile marker 204 in Cocoa late Tuesday morning.

Authorities say the crash happened when the driver of a 2005 Nissan Titan was traveling north on I-95 when a tire blew out, causing him to overturn and roll several times.

The driver was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He has been identified as a 79-year-old man from Clewiston.

The passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash was not injured. She has been identified as a 47-year-old woman from Clewiston.

The crash is still under investigation.
