Parents get in trouble for dressing baby in prison uniform with prisoner number Darshan

(MENAFN- IANS) Bengaluru, July 3 (IANS) A couple who had their baby doll photographed in a prison uniform bearing the prisoner number of Kannada superstar Darshan has landed in trouble as the state child rights body has taken up the matter ex officio and directed the police to trace them.

A photo of a child in a white dress and a photo of handcuffs with the prisoner number of jailed actor Darshan went viral on social media in Karnataka, raising concerns. The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights took up the matter ex officio and registered a case. The commission also asked the state police to locate the parents.

Shashidhar Kosambe, a member of the Commission, said on Wednesday that the photoshoot of a child in this manner was condemnable, which is why a decision was taken to conduct it. The people who did the photoshoot will be found and legal action will be taken against them.

He said it was also a clear violation of the Juvenile Justice Act. He added that action would be taken in accordance with all provisions of the law.

Meanwhile, Darshan’s prisoner number ‘6106’ has gone viral on social media, with fans of the actor tattooing it and carrying the number ‘6106’ on their vehicles. The film chamber has also been approached to register titles like ‘Khaidi No. 6106’. The authorities have expressed concern over the incidents.

Darshan, his ‘partner’ Pavithra Gowda and 15 others have been arrested on charges of murdering Renukaswamy (33), a resident of Chitradurga.

Investigations revealed that Renukaswamy, a big fan of Darshan, had been sending abusive messages to Pavithra Gowda on social media. The victim was allegedly kidnapped, brought to Bengaluru, kept in a shed and tortured to death. Darshan is currently in judicial custody till July 4.
