Cheyenne woman charged with child abuse

A 26-year-old Cheyenne woman has been charged with a felony for allegedly injuring a child.

Cheyenne woman wanted for child abuse turns herself in

According to the booking sheet, Janessa Nickoelle Owens turned herself in to the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office on June 26, 2024 at approximately 8:32 a.m.

Owens was wanted on a warrant for child abuse, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The order was signed by Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams on May 31, 2024.

Owens was handcuffed and taken without incident to the Laramie County Detention Center, where she was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Bail set at $3,000 for alleged pedophile

Owens made her initial appearance in District Court on June 27, 2024, at which time her bond was set at $3,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 5, 2024, at 9 a.m.
