M60 motorway exit closed after serious crash involving Audi

The motorway exit was closed today following reports of a serious accident.

Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to the Chadderton area of ​​Oldham in the early hours of Saturday morning following reports of a crash. A white Audi hatchback was pictured at the scene with extensive damage.

According to reports from the scene, the car drove onto the highway against traffic, driving through traffic lights.

It is not known if there were any injuries – Manchester Evening News contacted Greater Manchester Police for further details.

Traffic reports have confirmed the M60 anticlockwise exit is closed at junction 22, on the A62 Manchester Road and Failsworth, due to crash investigations.

The junction, which is located by the Esso garage on the side of the road, has been marked with tape where it joins the Hollinwood Road Junction.

Inside the cordon, close to the wall, a seriously damaged white Audi was visible.

Reports from the scene indicate the vehicle was traveling on Hollinwood Avenue toward the freeway interchange before entering the freeway the wrong way.

Officers checked the road and vehicle as part of their investigation, while specialists from the North West Critical Care team also attended the scene.
