Xbox Overwatch servers are down

Sombra Hack Can’t Explain It – Overwatch players on Xbox are struggling with server outages. The issue is part of a larger Xbox server issue that hasn’t been resolved yet. It’s also affecting other beloved Xbox titles, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Fortnite, VALORANT Console, XDefiant, and Rocket League. Here’s everything we know about the Overwatch downtime on Xbox as the situation unfolds.

The Xbox servers for Overwatch were taken offline as part of a larger Xbox server issue between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. ET on June 2, 2024. Other popular Xbox titles, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and VALORANT Console, were also affected. At 2:55 p.m. ET, the Xbox Support account on Twitter.com tweeted that it was “aware that some users have been disconnected from Xbox Live.” A further tweet followed at 4:08 p.m. ET, where @XboxSupport notified the community that “their investigation is taking longer than expected” and thanked them for their “patience and reports.”

At 5:49 p.m. ET, @XboxSupport tweeted that it was “under investigation into issues impacting users’ ability to sign in to Xbox Live and services.” The account also thanked community members for their patience and reports. As of 6:42 p.m. ET, the Xbox server issues have been ongoing for over three hours. The issue is listed as a “major outage,” so it’s likely it will take some time to fix.

While we have no idea when the Xbox servers will be back online, we can assume based on @XboxSupport’s update from 4:08 PM EST that the reopening could take longer than expected. It could take anywhere from a few hours to a day or more. The Xbox Overwatch servers obviously can’t reopen until Xbox fixes its larger server issues. For now, Xbox users can’t sign in on console. Additionally, the community can’t sign in to Xbox Live on Microsoft or PC platforms. Since players can’t sign in to Xbox Live, they won’t be able to play Overwatch until Xbox fixes the issue.
