AXA XL names new COO for Americas insurance

NEW YORK, July 2, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — AXA XL welcomes Kathleen Ziegler as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Insurance in the Americas. Ms. Ziegler will report to Lucy PilkoGeneral Manager, AXA XL, Americas.

In her new role, Ms. Ziegler will assume responsibility for overseeing and managing the day-to-day insurance operations of AXA XL in the Americas, including leading the Workplace, Middle Office (Underwriting Operations), Reporting & Premium Operations and Underwriting Governance teams. She will also be responsible for driving successful transformation and technology initiatives across the region. She will fill the role held by Jerome Ittywho is leaving AXA XL in July to take up an assignment within the AXA Group in Europe.

Ms. Ziegler has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, holding senior leadership positions at American International Group (AIG), Zurich Financial Services, CopperPoint, and Blackboard Insurance. In her most recent role as Senior Vice President of Operations at CopperPoint, she was responsible for integrating and building the company’s infrastructure following recent acquisitions, demonstrating expertise across operational functions. Previously, she played a key role in developing broker relationships and helped build a middle-market commercial insurance startup at Blackboard Insurance.
