Students Reflect on OSU’s Final Year at PAC-12 – The Daily Barometer

With the PAC-12 season coming to a close later this year, Oregon State University students reminisced about their favorite sports moments from their time at OSU.

Karena Meinhardt
Year Two – Human Development and Family Studies

“I got to fill in for Gill against UCLA this year. It was really cool, my heart was pounding so hard during the buzzer beater I couldn’t even watch the game. My partner had to be like, ‘OH MY GOD, WE DID IT!'”

“Also against Arizona, watching the men’s team. It was my partner’s first basketball game, and it was another buzzer-beater. I thought, ‘They’re not all like that,’ but we kept going to basketball games and they were really good.”

“My family, we’re a split household and I grew up in Eugene, so it’s exciting to have my family at a rivalry game at home and then beat them. That environment and that competitive experience is something I’ll remember.”

“In 2022, in the rivalry game, I was a freshman and I thought we were going to lose, so I was like, ‘Damn, I picked the wrong school, Oregon,’ and then we came back and they blew a 21-point lead, which was really cool.”
