Man arrested after drug dealer bust in Lexington County, South Carolina: police

A South Carolina man was arrested on multiple charges following a drug bust at his Midlands home, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said.

Jarvis Oneil Adams, 37, of Batesburg, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of crack cocaine manufacturing materials, the sheriff’s department said in a news release Wednesday. He was also charged with manufacturing, distributing, or otherwise producing cocaine base, jail records show.

“Agents identified Adams as a local drug dealer,” Sheriff Jay Koon said in a release. “Their investigation led to a search warrant for his home.”

During a search of a shed on Adams’ property June 28, officers found drug-making materials and substances, the sheriff’s department said. They included a spoon, a whisk, glass containers and a heat source that tested positive for cocaine base, according to the release.

Additionally, the sheriff’s department said there was also a box in the shed containing more than 400 grams of a clear, crystalline substance resembling methamphetamine.

Agents arrested Adams Friday at his home and transported him to the Lexington County Detention Center, Koon said.

Jail records show Adams’ bond on the combined charges was set at $45,000; he remains behind bars.
