A 28-year-old man from Dorchester has been charged with taking a photo of an 11-year-old girl as she walked to a bus stop and looking up her skirt.

Agustin Jaramillo has been charged with one count of indecent assault and battery on a person under the age of 14 following an alleged incident that occurred last month.

On June 6, Boston police responded to a call from Conservatory Lab Charter School in Dorchester. Officers met with an 11-year-old student who reported to school staff that she had been approached by a man, later identified as Jaramillo, as she was walking to her bus stop that morning.

Jaramillo allegedly handed the girl a rope and asked her to help him tie a knot. He leaned over and told the girl he was going to pull up her sock. Jaramillo then allegedly used his cellphone to take a picture up the victim’s skirt and rubbed his hand up her leg.

The girl described Jaramillo as a man in his 30s, with a mustache, holding a white plastic shopping bag and wearing a black T-shirt and white shorts.

Investigators reviewed footage from several area cameras and saw a man matching the description talking to the victim on Wainwright Street. Police distributed photos of the suspect.
